The What, Where and When to get you up to speed on the plan.
WHAT?
Join us in this equity-focused planning process, led by the WRK Group, to create an action plan to improve quality of life in Northeast Wilmington. Together we will design strategies to attract investment in the streets, homes, businesses, parks, schools, and people that make this community valuable and unique.
WHERE?
The “Study Area” for this plan is the Northeast Wilmington Community defined by North Market Street, the Brandywine River, the Amtrak/SEPTA Northeast Corridor, and the Wilmington City Boundary. When we say “Community” or “Study Area” this is the area we are talking about. Take a look at the map to see a more detailed boundary - in total our Study Area is approximately one square mile.
WHEN?
This is an 18 month planning process. We got started back in August of 2020 and publicly launched the plan in November of 2020. The first phase of our work is listening and learning through a series of surveys and data analysis. We expect to share our initial analysis and takeaways with the community in April of 2021. We will then work with you to come up with a vision, goals, strategies and actions, and then will move into implementation of the plan in January of 2022.
DIDN'T WE DO THIS ALREADY?
We will build on your work so far, and take the next step!
Why is it worth my time?
- We are making progress - the Riverside Redevelopment is underway!
- Our focus is on your quality of life.
- This plan will make the community eligible for more implementation funding.
